What's different about driveways in Venice
Venice Island driveways are 1926-to-1960s ribbons on narrow lots between mature trees, and replacement means routing around the roots, keeping to the historic district's guidelines where they apply, and pouring the apron to the city detail. The mainland's 1970s to 90s neighborhoods (Pinebrook, Jacaranda West, Capri Isles) have the standard settled builder slabs. Wellen Park's Venice-side villages have new builder driveways the ARC lets you widen only inside the garage wall line.
The island sits on fill and shell and drains fast; the mainland is Myakka sand and holds water in August.
