How often should pavers be sealed near the coast?

Eighteen to twenty-four months for a penetrating sealer, sometimes less on the Gulf-front row where spray is constant. Inland the same product lasts two to three years. Sun, salt and sprinkler water are what shorten it.
Why did the sealer on my pool deck peel or turn white?
A film-forming sealer applied over a damp base or too thick traps moisture and blushes white; on a deck that stays wet, it peels. The fix is stripping and switching to a breathable penetrating product.
Should I pressure wash my pavers myself?
Lightly, with a wide fan tip and from a distance. A turbo nozzle up close blasts the joint sand out and etches soft stone. Professional cleaning uses controlled pressure and re-sands afterward.
Do new pavers need sealing?
Not immediately. Wait 30 days for efflorescence to work out, then seal if you want color retention and stain resistance. Porcelain never needs it.
