What does a paver pool deck cost inside the City of Sarasota?
Concrete pavers run about $13 to $16 per square foot installed and travertine $20 to $26, so a 700-square-foot deck lands near $9,000 to $11,000 in pavers or $14,000 to $18,000 in stone, plus demolition, coping ($25 to $60 per linear foot) and a deck drain. On Lido and Bird Key add 5 to 10 percent for logistics.

What's different about pool decks in Sarasota
The city's paver deck market is the bayfront and west of the Trail: Harbor Acres, Bird Key, Lido Shores and St. Armands renovations that continue a marble or porcelain interior floor onto the lanai, and Southside Village and Cherokee Park homes replacing a 1980s deck with travertine. Salt reaches every bayfront deck, so coping on a salt pool is sealed annually and the field is rinsed; on Lido's Gulf side the edge restraint is a concrete curb and the lighting is amber.
Downtown and Rosemary District townhomes have small courtyard pools where large-format porcelain on a mortar bed over the existing slab keeps the floor height under the sliders.

Is travertine a mistake on a Bird Key salt pool?
Not if the owner commits to sealing the coping every year and rinsing the field; if not, dense concrete pavers or porcelain are the right call. The estimate says which the owner chose and writes the sealing date on the care sheet.
