Four inches or six, and 3,000 or 4,000 PSI?
Four inches on 4 inches of compacted base carries residential vehicles and is the Florida Building Code floor; 6 inches with #4 rebar carries RVs, boat trailers and trucks, and some right-of-way aprons (Venice's detail, for example) call for it. A 4,000 PSI mix with a low water-cement ratio is the working standard here for heat finishing and salt resistance; 3,000 is the minimum, not the target.

Why the base outranks the inches
Concrete is strong in compression and weak in bending; it bends when the ground under it moves. On Myakka fine sand with a wet-season water table under 10 inches, an uncompacted base loses fines and creates voids, and a 6-inch slab over a void cracks just like a 4-inch one, a little later. Four inches of compacted limerock in two lifts over a proof-rolled subgrade does more for a driveway than 2 more inches of concrete.
